In the words of Swami Vivekananda, true education refers to harmonious development of the physical, mental, moral, (spiritual), and social faculties, the four dimensions of life, for a life of dedicated service.
In the modern era of globalization, the young learners of the current generation are experiencing a paradigm shift from knowledge-based education to skill-based education with the aid of scientific and technological advancement along with the cultural dimorphism. Here comes the role of teachers who can help and guide the tender minds to stay in the right track and flourish to the desired extent.
We, at Lieutenant Abhishek Ray Chaudhuri Teachers Training College (affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, and recognized by NCTE) are committed to build new generation teachers by imparting high quality teacher education programme through our B.Ed. and D. El. Ed. Courses. We at LARCTTC thrive to provide extensive support to flourish a large pool of outstanding teacher-professionals, who will teach at foundational, preparatory, middle, secondary and senior secondary stages of the new school system in alignment with NEP 2020.
In the current dynamic framework of education, this institution continues the quest for excellence by setting its well sustained academic standards and commitment towards the society. The college is known to have a good reputation in the sphere of teacher-education and training all over West Bengal and beyond. The institution seeks to provide comprehensive and holistic development of young would-be teachers along with those who are already in this profession through a sincere effort in capacity building and enhancement of teaching skills. Here the teacher-educators through their systematic and innovative teaching techniques provide immense support to each teacher- trainee learning quality experience and guidance that addresses the needs of the individual teacher trainee both academically and socially.
The pedagogical practices of existing method-subjects are rigorous yet lucid and illustrative. The learners are provided with systematically-planned laboratories for science, social science, mathematics, language, and psychology to enhance their cognitive understanding and development of hands-on skills for practice.
The college has a well-endowed library with plenty of reading resources for learners to explore. Open access and other digital facilities serve to enhance learning experience.
In coherence with the technological advancement and social needs, this college makes provision for modern ICT facilities, mentoring practices, remedial classes and continuous evaluation of students and assessment of program outcome to keep a well sustained teaching learning practice in this institution.
The college believes in addressing the needs of every learner beyond pedantry and hence there are provisions to cater to all round development and wellbeing of teacher-trainees. A wide range of co-curricular activities including excursion, and cultural programmes are designed to cater the creative and aesthetic needs of the learners. The institution put sincere effort in spreading awareness campaign on social issues (Blood donation camp, Thalassemia awareness camp etc.) and community service for sustainable development.
Physical fitness, disciplining of the body and the mind, nurturing of creative faculties, channelizing innate talent towards trained expressions, instilling socio- political consciousness are the cherished virtues and imperatives for a well- rounded educational experience. Hence our institution seeks to fulfill the ideal of a wholesome learning experience through Sporting and Games facilities, Yoga, Medical and Psychological Counseling, Science Club, Literary meet and Eco Club.
To cater the need of economic independence, the young teacher-trainees are guided and motivated through Career Counseling. Active liaison and bridges are maintained with distinguished individuals, organizations and groups that are relevant for targeted career building. In addition, the college is planning to introduce some Value Added and Add on Courses to enhance employability and prospects of teacher-trainees.
The institution seeks to provide congenial healthy and safe environment in addition to its academic ambience. A responsive grievance redressal mechanism and a good canteen maintaining affordable pricing and hygienic standards aims to provide a comfortable, safe, and home like environment for the learning community.
The institution is committed in delivering devoted and sincere services and assistance for enabling student-teachers to avail State Funded Scholarships and Schemes. Nodal officers and a team of administrative staff always remain alert in dissemination of information and in guiding all potential beneficiaries of these state funded programs.

The institution strongly follows the rules and guidelines of the affiliating university Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University, Govt. of West Bengal and NCTE to run the B.Ed. curriculum and the same of the Primary Board, Govt. of West Bengal and NCTE in case of D. El. Ed. course.
